You’re at the launch ramp getting ready for a day on the water with friends. BoatUS Magazine’s senior editor Rich Armstrong teaches you how to put your boat in the water with help. He explains what each person should do and how to safely back up the the boat trailer, unhook the boat from the trailer, and get it to the dock. Install lines on cleats, replace the drain plug, remove the transom tie-downs. Unplug trailer lights, loosen safety chain. Signal to the driver, release winch line and bow eye, secure the boat to the dock. Finally, walk the boat to the end of the dock while the driver parks the truck and trailer.
