In Europe Schools present five education programs based on the documentary series ‘In Europe’, produced by VPRO and Euroclio. A one of a kind European exchange project in which students film their recent history, and research and compare themes like democracy, human rights, privacy, painful past, climate change, and migration.

In a decade where pupils use all kinds of (social)media, it is time to let them film their recent history. We provide history and social studies teachers with an interactive education kit, that is in line with the television series, which will contribute to forming opinions, citizenship, and media literacy.

The lessons contain a clear education program, tailored excerpts from the series, and tutorials to facilitate teachers and students in making a short documentary.
The lessons are for grades 3 to 5 of senior secondary school and pre-university school. An extra option is available for grades 3 and 4 of prevocational secondary school.

Schools from all over Europe will take part in this project and work on the same themes. All their short documentaries can be found in a VPRO playlist.
