With minimal gear including an axe. bow saw and parachute cords, my wife and I build a primitive bushcraft survival shelter deep in the Northern Ontario backcountry. I share key survival tips including how to light a fire with a ferro rod and how to tie a jam knot. The shelter we build looks like an A-frame style however it’s more of a double lean-to shelter as both sides are supported by independent ridge poles. This leaves a gap in the middle of the roof which acts as a chimney for the fire in shelter. This was the shelter we slept in for five nights while living off the land as part of the Lure of the North winter survival course that was lead my Jordan Jonas.
