Newari Recipe
Hello Everyone!
We are back with a new recipe of Kwati/qwati. It is one of the special dishes that people love to eat on the occasion of Janai Purnima. Qwati is considered to be highly nutritious food which provides energy to the people who have worked on their farms in the months of Ashad and Shrawan. It is a tradition that we mix nine varieties of beans and lentils and soak them overnight. Next day we drain the water out and let the beans germinate. After 48 hours the beans sprout and are ready to be cooked. We cook the beans with tomatoes, onions and a lot of spices. Kwati kan be served with rice or roti. It can also be eaten as soup.
