Relationship Triangles

In this video, host Dr. Mariana Martinez interviews leadership teacher, executive coach, and Bowen Center faculty member, Stanley Proffitt. At its most basic level, the relationship triangle occurs when 1) two people are interacting, 2) they experience tension or difficulties, and 3) one or both of them find someone else to talk to about it. The way the third person responds will either help or make the problem worse. Triangles are automatic and activated when tension is heightened – they are not necessarily inherently “good” nor “bad.
