To add cash on delivery payment method to your site,
First you need to enable the cash on delivery option.
So let’s go to your WordPress dashboard ► WooCommerce ► Settings.
Now go to ‘Payments’ and enable ‘cash on delivery’.
Once you’ve enabled Cash on Delivery payment, it will be available on your site.
So this is how you can add a Cash on delivery payment method to your website.
Next let’s see the additional features you can add to your cash on delivery payment method.
So to get the additional features, install a plugin called “WooCommerce Smart COD”
Once you’ve installed the plugin, you can add the additional features.
The first feature is to disable the COD option for low cart/order value.
So let’s go to WordPress dashboard ► WooCommerce ► Settings ► Payments
Now click ‘Manage’ right next to cash on delivery.
Now enable the option ‘Cash on Delivery Only If the cart value is greater or equal than’
And enter the amount your customer should purchase to avail Cash on Delivery
Now if the order value is below the amount you have provided,
Then the cash on delivery option will not be available
The second feature is how to enable COD for specific pincodes.
Now in the smart COD plugin settings, you will find an option called ‘specific postal codes’.
Now ‘enable’ the option and enter all the pincodes you want to enable the COD option.
Next let’s see the third feature which is charging extra for COD payments.
Now in the smart COD plugin settings, you will find an option called ‘Extra fee’.
Now enter the amount you want to charge for the COD payment method.
So once the customer chooses the COD option, they will be charged extra.
Now let’s look at the final feature which is enabling COD only for specific products.
To enable the Cash on Delivery for specific products,
Go to COD plugin settings, enable the specific products option in the payments tab.
Now select the products which you want to enable the COD option.
So once you’ve added the products,
The COD option will be available only for the products you’ve chosen.
