How to maximise your chances of getting into university | Durham University

I share a few ideas that might help you get into your uni of choice. I went to Durham University, so these tips were based on the know how I gained there; however a lot of the stuff I say can be applied to where ever you want to go.

1:11 look at how competitive a course is, and see if there is a different course that is less competitive to get into but offers very similar content to the one you are initially attracted to. You’d be surprised as how much courses can overlap and share modules.

4:01 be bold and personal in your personal statement (how who you are & your background informs why you want to study what you are applying for)

6:15 network/make friends with academics at the uni you want to go to who have research interests which are similar to your own.

9:59 do stuff that isn’t purely academic to show your interest in your field (if you have limited resources tweet and blog)
