Timelapse Tutorial: How to shoot a timelapse video of the night sky with your DSLR

I recently got into astrophotography and went out to rural Lincolnshire, England to video the stars. I took a couple of photos and posted them on Facebook. The responses I got were amazing so I decided to make this tutorial sharing a bit of knowledge.

I used my Canon 6D, Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens, a Manfrotto 501 Tripod and an intervalometer.

I chose to shoot RAW instead of Jpeg so that I could push the images further in Adobe Lightroom 5. I think the effects are quite astounding for a first try.
