During an overtime podcast with former child prodigy Jordan McCabe, Robert Bobrawski revealed what school he’ll be attending rochester university roll the clip.
So there you have it, if you hadn’t heard already you heard it now. Knowing I went ahead and done some research on the program. Rochester plays NCAA division 3, which is the third arguably the fourth tier of college hoops depending on where you wanna rank D1 Juco.
Regardless Rochester seems like a great situation for Robert, not only will he be best positioned to continue his career in basketball, but his scholarship will allow to him to complete his diploma
on the podcast he also revealed that during he spent his senior year undergoing back surgery, to address spine discomfort that ruled him out of his junior year the season before, which finally explains why he never played alongside Lamelo Ball at Spire in 2018/19.
It’s not as if even if healthy, he’d have had much of a role on that Spire team anyways. For one the team stacked and secondly, Rob Bob was brought over to the states as a project. Spire identified him following viral highlight videos, covered his 55,000 tuition fee in hopes that they could make something of his height and talent. And truth be told they’ve succeeded in doing so, because with this college commitment he’s made it to the next level. He’s come along way from when he first arrived at States, when Spire first got hold of Rob Bob he was just 180lbs, some few years on that strict 5000 calorie daily diet. He’s allegedly 220lbs, so he’s making solid progress. And seeing as he’s fully healthy, we can expect to see Rob Bob on the court next season in college. That being said I’d assume when featured, he will so on a minutes restriction. Played in small bursts like Zion in the bubble, cause when at Spire Rob Bob was restricted to just 10 minutes per game.
Due to his lack of muscle mass, endurance, and the threat of exhaustion that comes with being that height at that age.
And I’m sure while over the past years, he’s made some progress in these areas. I still can’t imagine he’s quite yet up too par with his soon to be college peers. I think his coordination and mobility is gonna compromise his play through college and beyond. And although he dreams of one day becoming the 2nd Romanian player to ever make the NBA, I’m here to tell you that it would take a miracle. Could you imagine 300lbs Zion Williamson driving with a full head of steam, and Rob Rob is stood there under the basket with his hands up. Bro, I’d be fear for his frame, his body his bones all of dat. Also, where’s the demand for someone a 7ft8 center in a league today’s game favors small ball, I mean Houston got 6ft5 PJ tucker playing center.
Nonetheless, I still believe there could be a career for him in pro sports, he’s got a name and following behind him now so his place in the sport is solidified. He will continue to go viral wherever in the world he plays basketball. Because when disregarding his physical limitations, Bobrowski has a unique skill set. He has a nice shooting stroke and has developed a solid from mid-range, you see him hitting fadeaways in the post and is in no rush to get his shot off as no opposing center is tall enough to contest his shots. It might sound stupid due to his height, but Rob towards the end of time at Spire. Was finally becoming comfortable dunking the ball. Crazy considering he can probably dunk without jumping
