How to Stay Fit During Covid-19 With Tabata

Peace be to you all (AsSalama’laikum)! I am a Hospitalist PA and health educator in Washington, D.C. This is an example of how to get a quick, but effective workout. Tabata, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and, other similar regimens are great for people who want to begin incorporating a fitness routine into a well-balanced lifestyle. You can always modify the exercises, to your current level of fitness. My goal is to encourage people (especially, us aging ๐Ÿ˜‰ GEN-Xers) to control modifiable risk factors in their lives (e.g. smoking cessation, good nutrition, exercise, stress management, etc.). Black folks, in urban areas, have disproportionately suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic. We HAVE to do what we can, to empower ourselves to reach optimal health outcomes! I take care of an increasing number of middle-aged patients, who suffer from poorly controlled conditions (e.g. hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, hyperlipidemia, COPD, etc.). Some, have even had to go on hemodialysis or endure amputations.๐Ÿ˜ฃ I wish you ALL the best of succes in your positive endeavors.
